In principle, visa applications should be made:
-Minimum 10 working days prior to the date of departure (Mumbai)

centers under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in Mumbai)
Group application processing time in Mumbai Jurisdiction -Group application processing time is minimum 7 working days before the departure date for Mumbai visa application center. -Group application processing time is minimum 9 working days before the departure date for Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Pondicherry, Pune visa application centers. -Application submission within 4-7 working days before the departure date will be considered as a VIP.

Following the review, based on the Consulate's final decision, the applicants will be directed to apply for either a Single entry or Multiple entry visa. The applicants will submit their applications with their passports on the first business day following the outcome they receive.”
